She was predeceased by : her parents, Arthur Joyner and Clara High Joyner; her husband Joseph "JC" Gilmer; and her children, Janice Merk and Larry Gilmer.

She is survived by : her children, Marcia Hall (Shawn) and Michael Gilmer (Denese); and her siblings, Mittie Evie Halfacre and Paul Joyner (Edith). She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Magnolia Cemetery Chapel (435 S Mt Pleasant Rd, Collierville, TN 38017). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Baptist Reynolds Hospice House, 1520 W. Poplar Avenue, Collierville, TN 38017.
