It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mildred Bernice Burkeen of Collierville, Tennessee, who passed away on April 20, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Marshall Byrd and Ruby Chase Byrd; her husband Walter Leo Burkeen, Sr.; her children, Leo Burkeen, Jr. and Terri Lee Burkeen; and her siblings, Marshall Jackson Byrd, Jr., Barbara Sanchez and Flaudie Duff.
She is survived by: her children, Vernon Burkeen of Prescott, AR, Micheal Burkeen, Debra Wilson (William) of Byhalia, MS, Pam Maxwell (Jimmy) of Moscow, TN and Regina Lawrence (Ron) of Sevierville, TN; and her siblings, Faye Isbell (Jimmy) of Collierville, TN, Vernon Byrd (Catherine) of Walnut, MS. and Wayne Byrd (Donna) of Walnut, MS.. She is also survived by 7 children, 23 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 30 great-great grandchildren.
