He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Baxter and Onnie Baxter; his wife Judy Baxter; his daughter-in-law Kay Baxter; and his brother Ocy Baxter (Linda).

He is survived by: his son Gregory Baxter; his grandson Cooper Baxter; and his sisters, Louise Brooks (Pete), Margaret Haywood (John) and Evelyn Morton (Billy). He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
