He was predeceased by: his father Charles; his sister Christine Burgett; and his nephew Eddie Riggins. He is survived by: his wife Doris Ann "Dottie" Carroll; his children, Dawn Marie Allen (Steve) of Corbin, KY, Sarah Beth Malugin of Columbia, TN and Zachary Keith Townsend (Marsha) of Chapel Hill, TN; his grandchildren, Kyler Allen (Grace), Jake Townsend, Mallory Allen, Bailey Allen, Berkley Allen and Copper Malugin; and his sisters, Shirley Fox (Bobby) and Patricia Jackson. He is also survived by five nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to The Way church building fund in Chapel Hill, TN.
