He was predeceased by: his parents, James Porter Malugin and Drucilla Hicks Malugin; his son Lonnie Malugin; and his siblings, Sue Hopper, Mae Martin, Shirley Cross, Margaret Davis, Kenny Malugin and Robert Malugin.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Harris Malugin of Columbia; his daughters, Tara Webb (Jerry) of Hampshire and Kari Truette (Wes Owens) of Lyles; his siblings, Roger Malugin (Floye) of Columbia, Lester Malugin (Dawn) of Columbia and Brenda Morton (Benny) of Hampshire; his grandchildren, Madison Luker (Tyler), Morgan Webb, Zachary Truette (Lexi Capps), Bentlee Adams, Cheyanne Owens and Savannah Owens; his great grandchildren, Blakelynn Bauman and Wylla Luker; and his nephew Greg Buffington. He is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.
