It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John David Thyen of Columbia, Tennessee, who passed away on February 11, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry Thyen and Freda Lester Thyen; and his brothers, Larry Gibbs and Arthur Gibbs. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Doolan Thyen; his sons, John Michael Thyen (Jill), Robert Thyen (Holly) and Richard Thyen (Melissa); his grandchildren, Monica Thyen (Katie), Casey Thyen, Kayla Thyen, Kelsey Thyen, Alissa Thyen, John Robert Thyen, Will Dugger, Daniel Dugger and Mikayla Mosley (Jayden); and his sisters, Sandra Shriver (Kenneth) and Margaret Plogsted (Steven). He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Columbia Lions Club in memory of John.
