She was predeceased by: her parents, John Barnes and Ruby Riggs Barnes; her husband Robert "Bob" Reynolds Cathey, Sr.; her daughter Nancy Cathey Mauney; and her siblings, Jean Barnes Blackwell, Lynn Barnes and Riggs Barnes.
She is survived by: her children, Barbara Cathey Winchester (Keith Winchester), Christie Cathey Long (Wiley Perry Long, III) and Robert Reynolds Cathey, Jr. (Amy Stevenson Cathey); and her son-in-law John Kester Mauney, Jr. (Additionally). She is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to the Robert Andrew Mauney.
