He is survived by: his wife Anita Faye Hardison Ervin; his son James Michael "Mikey" Ervin Jr.; his grandchildren, Korbyn Lane Ervin, Landon Ervin and Jaxon Ervin; and his siblings, Larry Collins, Joseph Alford Ervin and Sheila Holt. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
