He was predeceased by: his parents, Maury Paul Chappell and Viola Adams Chappell; his daughters, Connie Lynn Chappell Brown and Kimberly Jane Chappell Walker; and his brother Paul Chappell.
He is survived by: his wife Margie Chappell; his sons, Richard Wayne Chappell (Sandra) and Jeffrey Layne Chappell; his grandchildren, Haleigh Chappell, Aidan Chappell, Nia Chappell, Hannah Walker, Allen Walker, Kacy Brown and Laura Brown; his stepchildren, Tony Devers (Kim), Amy Wilson and Kimberly Davis (Tommy); his stepgrandchildren, Madison Wilson, Remington Wilson, Conner Devers, Kyle Devers, Amaris Pyland, Christine Davis, Tommy Lenn Davis and Abby Tittle; and his brother Albert Chappell. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren; and sixteen step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Williams Funeral Home & Crematory - Columbia (2517 Trotwood Ave, Columbia, TN 38401). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
