He is survived by : his wife Virginia Satterfield Smith; his children, William Todd Smith (Kim), Russell David Smith (Tanya) and Robin Smith Jones (Shannon); his grandchildren, Brianna Smith, McKenzie Smith, Savannah Smith, McKayla Smith, Kayla Barber (Donovan), Corey Smith (Bailee), Tucker Jones, Harper Jones and Hadley Jones; his great grandchildren, Cameron Smith, Ava Smith and Ryker Barber; and his sister Barbara Wade (Joe).

Visitation was held on Friday, February 2nd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home (320 W 7th St, Columbia, TN 38401). A graveside service was held on Saturday, February 3rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Polk Memorial Gardens (6465 Trotwood Ave, Columbia, TN 38401).
