He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilhelm Doerle and Henrietta Doerle; his wife Rita Sherman Doerle; and his daughters, Patricia "Pat" Doerle Galasso and Janet Doerle.
He is survived by: his children, Margaret Ribley (James) of Tennessee, Melanie Wattenbe (Stewart) of New York and Matthew Doerle of North Carolina; his siblings, Walter Doerle (Ellen) of Massachusetts, Richard Doerle (Clara) of New York, Ruth Holbrook (Jerald) of New York, Eleanor "Lorlie" March of Arkansas and MaryAnn Pittner (Karl) of New York; Dale Galasso of Massachusetts. He is also survived by four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in William's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Heart Association.
