She was predeceased by: her parents, Napoleon "Babe" Payton Helms, Jr. and Beulah Sliger Helms; her son Michael Shawn McClain; her daughter-in-law Marcy McClain; and her siblings, Olen Helms, William Harold "Cotton" Helms, Loyd Kenneth Helms, Lennell Helms, Hulon Helms, Ronnie Mack Helms, Jerry Helms and Floyd Helms.
She is survived by: her husband Harold Pifer of Cookeville; her sons, Gardner McClain (Cheryl) of Lebanon and Daniel McClain (Sharon) of Dayton, OH; her stepdaughters, Diana Atkins of Brentwood, CA and Linda Schork (Paul) of Louisville, KY; her sisters, Shirley Dyer (Ed) of Baxter, Treva Hipsher of Cookeville and Donna Kay Walker of Indiana; and her grandson Justin McClain (Angela).
