He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Schmidt and Mary Lasher Schmidt; his wife Catherine Schmidt; his son John Schmidt; and his brother John Schmidt.
He is survived by: his daughter Stephanie Patterson (Jessie) of Cookeville, TN.; his grandchildren, Cody Flatt, Casey Lynn Flatt, Allyson Miranda Patterson, Peyton Reagan Patterson, Kyler James Patterson, Sherri Schmidt and Jacob Schmidt; and his sister Barbara E Knight. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
