We announce the death of Gertha Medley of Cookeville, Tennessee, who passed away on August 26, 2026, at the age of 98. Gertha will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Winton Breeding and Myrtle Alma Boatman Breeding; her husband William R. Medley; her sister Anna Lee Karch; her stepson Gene Medley; her niece Theresa Ann Looper; and her nephew George William Karch.

She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Maura Little Medley; her grandchildren, William Robert Medley (Samantha) and Allison Ogle (Vince); her nieces, Phyllis Sue McCloud (Dennis) and Alfreda Ford (Merrill); her great-nieces and great-nephews, John Looper (LeAnn), David Looper (Olivia), Chris Looper (Ashley), Steven McCloud (Rachael), Katie Miller (Darren), Denny Miller (Sandy), Carol Swaw (David), David Brodrick and Betsy Lester (Mike); her nieces, Latonya Mott and Sondra Faye Burton; her nephew-in-law Johnny Looper; her nephews, Patrick King, Kevin King, Terry Fox and Casey Fox; her great grandchildren, Mila Ogle, Piper Ogle, Kenzi Ogle and Alyssa Medley; and her caregivers, Rita and Lori.
