He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Allen Atnip, Jr. and Martha Myrie Hale Atnip; and his sisters, Wilma Jean Cantrell and Darlene Stanley. He is survived by: his wife Jeanine Atnip of Cookeville; his children, Jamie Goodson (Mark) of Georgia, Jennifer White of Georgia and Jimmy Allen Atnip, II (Stephanie) of Smithville; his stepchildren, Paul Kirby of Minnesota and Tarina Burgess (Trent) of Illinois; his grandchildren, Renny Godfrey (Chris), John Mason, Matthew White, Savanah White, Sarah White, Myrie Hale (Quentin), Tyler, Emma, Logan Kirby, Easton Burgess and Zachary Lane (Victoria); his great grandchild Lucas Lane; and his sisters, Janie Hale (PI) of Liberty, Janice Walker of Smithville and Darnell Crook (Wayne) of Smithville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the DeKalb Funeral Chapel (863 S Congress Blvd, Smithville, TN 37166). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at the Mt. Holly Cemetery.
