He was predeceased by : his father James Keith Cannon, Sr.; his daughter McKinsey Grace Cannon; his stepfather Lloyd Dyer; and his stepsisters, Lisa Hieatt and Denise Dyal.

He is survived by : his wife Rebecca Atkins Smith; his mother Louise Dyer; his sons, Noah, Peyton (Michelle) and Devin Cannon; his grandchildren, Brayden and Addison Cannon; his brothers, Tracy Cannon (Leslie) of Smithville, Brandon and Mandee Dyer of Smithville; his stepsister Shannon Chapman; his stepmother Charlene Cannon; his stepchildren, Tyler and Kaitlyn Smith; his friends, Danny Davis, Brent Hollows, Richard Helms, Jason Webb, Rob Kulpa, Mike Rose, Reynold Valenzuela, Mark Walker, Donnie Adams and Steve Smith; and his sister-in-law Rev. Denna Hornby.
