He is survived by: his daughters, Debbi Young (Keith), Linda Wardell (Paul) and Kandy Smith (Richard Barnard); his grandchildren, Kala Adams (Adrian) of Donald Metcalf, T. J, Gensen, Kori Bean, Emily Nash (Caden) and Alyvia Littlejohn (Shay); and his siblings, Jimmy Beasley and JoAnn Sidwell.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Whitson Funeral Home (30 N Dixie Ave, Cookeville, TN 38501). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

“I remember Monroe from when I was a young girl (6-12yrs old). I was raised in the Poplar Grove Community and Monroe (we called him Geronimo) worked in the tobacco fields with my dad. He also did some construction work on the house that we built. He was always sweet and funny and always picking on me and my sister. Wish I had got see him again before he passed to let him know I had fond memories of him. My condolence to his family.”
