He was predeceased by: his parents, José Alvarez Solis and María. He is survived by: his wife Petra Angel Covarrubias; his children, Aurora, Beatriz, José Juan, Anastacio, Rafael 3rd and María Guadalupe (Camila) of Jesus; his sisters, María León and Catalina Alvarez; his son Rodolfo Alvarez; and his siblings, José Manuel, Rosa, Vicente, Salvador and Manuel. He is also survived by 48 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
