He was predeceased by: his parent Claude Chaffin; his son Jimmy Chaffin; and his parents-in-law, Walter and Jewel Hall. He is survived by: his wife Mary John Hall Chaffin; his children, Johnny Chaffin (Susan) and Karen Adkins (John); his daughter-in-law Elaine Chaffin of Cookeville; and his grandchildren, Heather Symrl (Tim), Jordan Chaffin, Morgan Johnson (Josh), Bradley Adkins, Staci Parvin (Jeremy), Jonathan Chaffin, Sara Ferguson and Tommy Phillips (Rebecca). He is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren.
