He was predeceased by: his father James Odes; and his brothers, James and Fred Birdwell. He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his children, Danny Birdwell (Brittany), Brian Birdwell (Jessica) and Jill Marsee (Ben); his grandchildren, Cameron of Cookeville, Connor of Cookeville, Abner of Cookeville, Whitley Birdwell of Cookeville, Violet Marsee of Cookeville and Beka Brawner of Sioux Falls; and his siblings, Anna Loftis, Bessie Robinson, Donal, Litton Birdwell of Bloomington Springs and Jasper Birdwell of Cookeville. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his honor to Cookeville High School Marching Band, Prescott South Middle School Band, or Prescott South Middle School Chorus;programs that have greatly enriched the lives of his grandchildren and other children in Putnam County.
