He was predeceased by : his parents, Pink Griggs, Sr. and Mary Magdalene Parsons Griggs; and his siblings, Janella Lovell, Lovelace Griggs, Pink Griggs, Jr., Raymond Griggs, Clarence "Otto" Griggs and Hudson Griggs.
He is survived by : his wife Dr. Sharon Leftwich Griggs of Cookeville; his children, Amber Griggs, Dr. Tiffanie Wright and Rick Griggs; his siblings, Marzee Thomas, Sarah R. Brown, Shirley LaVert Wilson, Dimple H. Prentice and Johnny Griggs; his grandchildren, Samuel Allen Harness, Katelin Joyce Harness and Sterling Shields Hatch; and his great grandchild Bentley Luke. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and in-laws.
