It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Sue Elrod of Cookeville, Tennessee, who passed away on February 6, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her mother Stella Gaw Choate; her husband James H. Elrod; her father Herbert H. Choate; her grandson Austin Dean Elrod; and her brothers, Billy and Bobby Choate.

She is survived by : her son James "Jim" Elrod (Cathy) of Cookeville, TN.. She is also survived by great nephews, great nieces, cousins and friends.
