He was predeceased by: his parents, John Calvin Ashburn and Mary Dunn Ashburn; and his siblings, Melba Alison (Howard), Albert Ashburn (Lorene), Mildred Gammill (Jim), Rosa Lee Goff (Orby), Roosevelt Ashburn (MaryLou), Clara Nell Thomas (Carlyn) and Betty Sue Ashburn.
He is survived by: his wife Faye Ashburn; and his daughters, Kim Stults (Will) of Warner Robins and Vickie Herron (Daniel) of Baxter, Tennessee.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Dyer Chapel (798 S Willow Ave, Cookeville, TN 38501). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
