He was predeceased by: his parents, James Harlo Harris Sr. and Adele Bandy Harris; his siblings, Bill H. Harris, Michael R. Harris and Jean Calhoun; and his brothers-in-law, Joe Watson and Charlie Calhoun.

He is survived by: his wife Deborah J. Harris; his children, David Warren Harris, Danny Michael Harris, Dennis Wayne Harris and Elizabeth Adele Rose; his siblings, Haril Harris (Dale), T. J. Harris (Ann), Linda Watson and Judy Queen (Leon); and his sisters-in-law, Shirley Harris and Sherry Harris. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
