He was predeceased by: his father Bernard; his siblings, Sarah Alexander, Harold Alexander and Albert Alexander; and his brother-in-law Brian Eric Huff.

He is survived by: his wife Gloria Jolley of Roseville; his children, Markel Alexander Mitchell (Lemuel), Napoleon Alexander and Steven Alexander; his grandchildren, Kelsey Hartman, Zion Mitchell and Zachery Mitchell; his mother Clara Alexander; his sisters, Pamela Alexander Bell, Sheila Winbush, Sylvia Alexander Higgins (Cal) and Melissa Alexander Huff; and his brother-in-law Keith Winbush. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
