Though Bernice may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Bernice leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel W. Bittner and Mabel B. Bittner; and her husband William L. Whisel. She is survived by: her children, Brenda Lee Casey (David) of Jackson, Tennessee, Karen Lynn Smith (Joey) of Bartlett, Tennessee, David Wesley Whisel (Tonoa) of Springdale, Arkansas and William Douglas Whisel (Jackie) of Melbourne, Florida. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in honor of Bernice to the Shriners Hospital or St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis.
