We announce the death of Kathryn Gaye (Ledward) Smith of Cornersville, Tennessee, who passed away on October 7, 2026, at the age of 83. Kathryn will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Ledward and Edna Hall Ledward; her husband Harold E. Smith; and her sisters, Joan Terrell, Marcella Boettcher and Darlene Dodson.
She is survived by: her children, Patricia "Patty" Latham (Wayne) of Cornersville, Teresa Mathis (James) of Cornersville and Richard H. Smith of Cornersville; and her sister Iris Bates of Leesburg, FL. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Beechwood Cemetery. A burial will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Beechwood Cemetery North Main.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to Lynnville Baptist Church.
