He was predeceased by: his parents, John Spangler and Evelyn Spangler. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his daughters, Mellony Kent (Shaun) and Mallory Womble (Drinnon); his grandchildren, Cassidy, Kelsey, Macey, Avery and Andy; and his siblings, Bruce Spangler (Phyllis), Patty Spangler, Bobby Spangler (Miranda), Susan Carver (Matt) and Kristie Spangler (Allen Faircloth). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Clear Spring Baptist Church (7350 Tazewell Pike, Corryton, TN 37721). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery-John Sevier (2200 E Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920).
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to UT Hospice Foundation or Blue Line TN, Inc. care of Knoxville Law Enforcement Credit Union.
