It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carroll Gates (Cosby, Tennessee), who passed away on December 15, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Carroll may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Creed Gates and Magdalene Gates; and his brother-in-law Michael "Chop" Barnes. He is survived by: his daughters, Cindy Witt (Travis) and Ashley Huff; his siblings, Jeff (Kay), Terry Gates (Kim) and Ellen Manus; and his daughter Penny Gates. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews.
