He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Hunt Akers; his son John Wayne Akers (Julie) of Cottage Grove, TN; his grandchildren, Caleb Akers (Summer) and Lillie Counce (Matthew); his great grandchildren, Nolan, Ben Counce and Jeff Wade Akers; his brother Bennie Akers (Betty); and his siblings-in-law, Marilyn Oliver, Linda Akers and Tommy Frank Hunt (Carol). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
