We are sad to announce that, on December 17, 2025, at the age of 86, Mamie Blakney (Counce, Tennessee) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Mamie's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Mamie has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Counce and Edith Battles Counce; her husband Lowell Blakney; her son William Lowell Blakney; and her sister Emma Prentiss.
She is survived by: her daughters, Angie Blakney of Counce and Carol Blakney of Bartlett, Tennessee; her grandchild Kesha Shelby of Counce, Tennessee; and her great grandchildren, Kylie Shelby, Jacey McMeans, Blakney Schwartz, Lucky Flanagan and Ashby Flanagan.
