With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Tommy Young of Counce, Tennessee, born in Finger, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 17, 2026 at the age of 88. He was predeceased by: his son Thomas "Tim" Richard Young, Jr.; his parents, James Cornelius Young and Nina Inez Nash Young; and his siblings, Jimmy Neal Young, Mary Lou Young, Ruby Fay Young, JoAnn Blanton and Betty Catherine Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Annice Young; his grandson Thomas "Trey" Richard Young III (Carmin); his sisters, Dorothy Mae Amerson (Kenneth) and Marylon Elaine Brock (Joe); his niece Mikia Poindexter; and his nephew Jay Poindexter.
A gifted and prolific songwriter, Tommy earned recognition and awards for his musical talents and contributions to songwriting.
