He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edgar Catterton and Virginia I. Rowland Catterton; and his siblings, Patty Jo Burnett and Michael Owen Gilliland. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Jackson Catterton; his son Roger Dale Catterton (Dena); his grandsons, Joshua Catterton and Cory Catterton (Harley); his great grandchild Bella Shae Catterton; his stepgrandchildren, Damien and Vanessa; and his siblings, Ralph Terry Catterton (Kay), Donna Kay Algood and Jeannie Carol Ihle. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
