He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Curtis and Lucille Curtis; and his brothers, George Curtis and Walker Curtis. He is survived by: his wife Nita Curtis; his children, David Curtis (Evette) and Connie Ballard (Keith); his granddaughters, Emily Simmons (Phillip), Jenny Baird (Anthony), Annie Fain (Caleb) and Gracie Ballard; his great grandchildren, Colton Simmons, Abigail Baird, Brinley Fain and Banks Fain; and his siblings, John Curtis, Elmer Curtis, Norris Curtis, Ailene Hartsfield and Ann Berkley.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Alton may be sent to Brighton Baptist Church.
