He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew L. Dunavant and Mary Wiley Dunavant; his wife Doris Moore Dunavant; and his daughters, Becki Coulston and Edith Dunavant.

He is survived by: his children, Gracey Davis (Terrell), Jane Rice (David), Jean Nix (John), Tommy Dunavant (Beth) and Mike Coulston. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, & one great-great grandchild.
