He was predeceased by: his son Gary "Knobby" Covert; his parents, Ralph Jesse and Delores Short Covert; and his sister Clara Miller. He is survived by: his wife Gloria; his daughter Debbie; his children-in-law, Joel Robinson of Covington and Sheila Covert of Covington; his grandchildren, Lisa Trusty (Brad), Daniel Covert (Shelby) of Covington and Jessica Renfrow (Rickey) of Drummonds; his great grandchildren, Autumn Bradshaw of Covington, Jase Smith of Covington, Gage Smith of Covington, Lincoln Covert of Covington, Kye Covert of Covington, Alston Renfrow, Brystol Claire Renfrow and Bentlee Renfrow of Drummonds; and his sisters, Judy (Jake Alles), Betty (Larry Brown) and Barbara (John Finney).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Holly Grove Children's Camp Fund.
