He is survived by: his wife Judy Bennett; his daughter Kendy (Paul (Skip) Erwin) of Covington; his grandchildren, Kathy (Rod Townsend) of Knoxville and Cody Erwin (Jessica); his great grandchildren, Sadie and Finn; his grandchildren, Gil Erwin, Garland Montgomery Fisher (Jason) and Kacey Montgomery (Tyler); his great grandchildren, Emerson and Briggs; his grandson David Townsend (Michaela); his cousins, Joe McCool (Renee) and Dickey Stark (Dunnia); and his sister-in-law Marilyn Gregory.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church (145 W Church Ave, Covington, TN 38019). A funeral service was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at the Covington Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude, First Methodist Church, the Food Pantry or Samaritan Funds.
