He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth Brown Gibbs; his son Anthony Gibbs; his grandson Travis Cook; his great grandchild Malia Head; and his parents, George F. Gibbs and Lillie Troutt Gibbs of Springfield.
He is survived by: his sister Cecelia Pratt of White House; and his daughters, Cheryl Binkley (Bill) of Alexandria, VA, Yolanda Reid (Joe) of White House, Farah Cook (Mark) and Dawn Gibbs of Springfield. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
