He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Wesley Sanders (Elizabeth Sanders Hensley) and Margaret Elizabeth Sanders Hensley; his stepfather Riley Hensley; and his sister Bobbie Sue Sanders-Wright. He is survived by: his wife Carol Sanders (Burnett); his children, Shane Sanders and Lauren Swanson (Ryan); his grandchildren, Marcus Preston Collier and Atticus Zane Collier; and his siblings, Benny Sanders (Vickie), Rose Mary Steele and Ruth Marie Kerley (Dallas).

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Central Baptist Church (1346 S Main St, Crossville, TN 38555). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

The family request donation be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
