He was predeceased by: his parents, Carson Tays and Lillie Belle Kilgore Tays; his daughter Dianna Daugherty-Hamby; and his sister Mary Sue Button. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Tays; his children, Mary Qualls (Larry) and Bob Tays (Christina); his grandchildren, Brad Daugherty (Kate), Kayla Qualls, Lindsay Becker (Josh), David Qualls (Kerri), Ethan Tays (Holli), Morgan Tays, Courtney Jordan (Brent), Bryson Tays, Maggie Qualls, Mason, Blakelee Daugherty (Brad), Anna Daugherty, Riley, Noah, Chloe Becker (Lindsay), Gracie and Nathan (Kayla); and his sister Norma Hyder (David).
