It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Billy Tays (Crossville, Tennessee), who passed away on December 10, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carson Tays and Lillie Belle Kilgore Tays; his daughter Dianna Daugherty-Hamby; and his sister Mary Sue Button. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Tays; his children, Mary Qualls (Larry) and Bob Tays (Christina); his grandchildren, Brad Daugherty (Kate), Kayla Qualls, Lindsay Becker (Josh), David Qualls (Kerri), Ethan Tays (Holli), Morgan Tays, Courtney Jordan (Brent), Bryson Tays, Maggie Qualls, Mason, Blakelee Daugherty (Brad), Anna Daugherty, Riley, Noah, Chloe Becker (Lindsay), Gracie and Nathan (Kayla); and his sister Norma Hyder (David).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Crossville Memorial Funeral Home (2653 N Main St, Crossville, TN 38555). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mayland Cemetery.
