He was predeceased by : his parents, Carl Hayden Smith and Leva Barker Smith; his wife Nettie Sue Smith; and his sister Dixie Nell Smith. He is survived by : his son Curtis Lee Smith (Dana McFarland); his siblings, Sue Elmore and Carl Smith; and his brother-in-law Tom Smith (Janet).

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bilbrey Funeral Home and Cremation Service (76 E Adams St, Crossville, TN 38555). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at the Crossville City Cemetery.
