He was predeceased by: his parents, Scranton S. Mathis and Retha Inell Hughes Mathis. He is survived by: his wife Angela R. Mathis; his son Stephen C. Sims; and his daughter-in-law Nichole Lynn Troglin. He is also survived by six cats.
