She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Marvin Howard and Ina Eurica Howard (Ellis); her husband Kermit Boyd Rose; her son Gregory Duane Rose; and her siblings, Betty Kington (Howard) and Nathan Clyde Howard.

She is survived by: her son Marvin Boyd Rose; her daughter-in-law Diane Rose; her granddaughter Miranda Joy Goldsby; and her great grandchildren, Cora Joy Goldsby and Samuel Boyd Goldsby.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Cancer Society in Joy's name.
