He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Akers and Hazel Jewel Akers; his brother Kenneth Akers; and his siblings-in-law, Joyce White, Joan Pendry, Georgia Currier, Peggy Francis, Frances Marken, Don Marken, Ted Marken, Richard Marken and Don Currier.
He is survived by: his wife Vickey Marken Akers; his children, Brian Akers (Olivia) and Crystal Akers; his daughter-in-law Becky Kelly; his grandchildren, Andy Kelly, Emily Akers, Ryan Akers, Shelby Lipscomb, Lyla Akers, Camden Akers, Willow Akers and Noah Akers; and his siblings-in-law, John Marken, Paul White, Roy Francis, Sherry Bowman, Robin Hoover (Gary), Linda Akers and Martha Marken. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephew.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Heritage Funeral Home (609 Bear Creek Pike, Columbia, TN 38401). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
