He was predeceased by: his parents, Billy Gray Looper and Carolyn Jean Taylor Looper; his sister Debby Looper Hartman; and his father-in-law Paul Downey. He is survived by: his wife Deborah "Debbie" Jane Downey Looper; his children, Michael Looper (Candace) and Crystal Bowman (Zach); his grandchildren, Hunter Looper (Kasey), McKenzie Looper, Hayden Looper, Bennett Bowman and Grayson Bowman; his sisters, Cindy Kollstedt (Dan) and Martha Meservy (Steve); his brothers-in-law, Dennis Downey (Mary) and Henry Hartman; and his mother-in-law Esma Downey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and a number of great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the South Gate Church of Christ (2700 Pulaski Hwy, Columbia, TN 38401).
