He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Russell and Naomi Russell; and his siblings, Danny Russell and Nancy West. He is survived by: his children, Candace Russell-McMurray and Josh Russell (Donna); his son-in-law John McMurray (Melinda); his granddaughters, Hayley Gregory (Leron) and Katie Russell (Gage Reed); his great grandchild Nyah Gregory; his siblings, Robin Ausmus and Charlotte Wilson (Graylon); and his brother-in-law Donnie Carlson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Summey's Bridge Missionary Baptist Church (200 Providence Rd, Cumberland Gap, TN 37724). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made payable to Cookie Russell, to help with funeral and cremation expenses.
