He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Deason and Sarah Deason (Long); his grandson Bud Reynolds; and his siblings, John Deason, Ray Deason, Bonnie Haneline and Esther Carroll.
He is survived by: his children, Melinda Riggins (Van Jr), Mandy Mercer, Cindy Reynolds (Art) and Cissy Mandrell (Jamie); and his grandchildren, Callie Crews (Ryan), Van Riggins III (Naomi), Michael Coleman (Jodie Curtis), Sheldon Reynolds, Noah Reynolds, Jonah Reynolds (Gracie), Thea Reynolds, Bethany Serafin (Leo) and Wilson Mandrell (Sophie). He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Vanleer Cemetery Fund or Martha's Chapel Community Church.
