She was predeceased by: her parents, Bruce Franklin and Roberta Franklin; her husband Walter Burl Smelcer; her grandson Dietrich Hunter Hass; her son-in-law Dennis Woolard; and her siblings, John, Paul Franklin and Evelyn Hance (Bill).
She is survived by: her children, Pat Woolard (Mike Osborne), Walter Burl, II Smelcer (Sheila), Earl Smelcer (Robin), Dorothy Suttles (Jay), Laura Hass (Jim) and Richard Smelcer (Amy); her grandchildren, Patrick Woolard (Angie), Adam Smelcer (Brittany), Audra Watkins (Dustin Fortner), Ethan Smelcer, Tyler Smelcer (Autumn), Eric Smelcer, Shelby Gilmer (Logan), Nicholas Smelcer (Brooke) and Benjamin Smelcer; her great grandchildren, Haylee, Millie, Mason, Joanna, Addison, Hayden, Jack and Palmer; her sister Helen Franklin; and her sisters-in-law, Betty Ann Franklin and Shelby Franklin. She is also survived by several nieces & nephews; extended family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Farrar Funeral Home (162 E Meeting St, Dandridge, TN 37725). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Hills Union Cemetery (2383 Hills Chapel Rd, Dandridge, TN 37725).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Chestnut Grove Community Church.
