The family announces the passing of Melvin L. Phipps of Dandridge, Tennessee on October 19, 2026. Melvin, born on January 18, 1944, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Phipps and Madeline Phipps; and his sister Sharon Noonkesser (Ronnie). He is survived by: his wife Linda Sue Forgety Phipps; his children, Scott, Kasey Abart (Jamie) and Lee Phipps (Amanda); and his grandchildren, Riley, Grant Abart, Poppy and Zac Phipps. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Hillcrest Cemetery (386 US-25W, Dandridge, TN 37725).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Ronald McDonald House, Dolly Parton Childrens' Hospital, or St. Jude Childrens' Research Hospital.
