He was predeceased by: his parents, James Alfred "Pete" Walker and Joyce Thelma Newman Walker; his wife Brenda Diane Layman Walker; his son Jay Howard Walker; and his brother John Luther Walker.
He is survived by: his daughter Misty Dianne Duncan; his grandchildren, Jessi Duncan (Shaphan), Samantha White (Haylee), Haley Lawson (Hannah) and Derrick Duncan; his great grandchildren, Esme, Zeona, Draedyn and Jeremias; his siblings, Joy Ireson and Jackie Robert Walker; his nieces and nephews, Michelle Wilson, Jennifer Walker, Myah Wilson, Jimmy Wilson (Kristen), John Walker, Jr. and William Diaz; and his sister-in-law June Walker. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Farrar Funeral Home (162 E Meeting St, Dandridge, TN 37725). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the French Broad Brethren Cemetery (3306 Brethren Church Rd, White Pine, TN 37890).
In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Jefferson County Rescue Squad. J. Ray would want us to note that there is a donation box that can be found behind the Squad building, located at 915 Industrial Park Road - Dandridge, TN 37725.
